Who we are

SIDECAR Entertainment LLC (“SIDECAR,” “we,” “us”) operates the SIDECAR mobile app and the website at sidecar-creative-entertainment.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email info@sidecar-creative-entertainment.com.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• Account information — the email you sign in with, and a display name you choose. A real name is optional.
• Gameplay data — the puzzle scores you submit (calculated from the share text you paste) and your league activity and standings.
• Quips and reactions — short messages (up to 120 characters) and emoji reactions you post in your leagues.
• Pet photos (optional) — if you use Bring Your Own Pet, the photo you choose is used to generate a cartoon portrait of your pet. We don't store the original photo, and we keep the generated artwork on your account.
• Device and notification data — a push-notification token (if you enable notifications) and your time zone, so reminders arrive at the right local time.
• Website only — if you join the beta or newsletter, your name and email; plus basic, privacy-respecting usage analytics.

We access your photos only if you choose Bring Your Own Pet — never your whole library, just the one photo you pick. We do notcollect your contacts or precise location. Any promotions you see in the app are our own — we use no third-party ad networks, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking.

How we use your information

• To run your leagues — calculate scores, build standings, and show activity to other members of your leagues.
• To create your Bring Your Own Pet mascot — the photo you pick is screened for inappropriate content, then sent to an AI image service to draw your pet's portrait.
• To send the notifications you opt into (daily reveals, weekly recaps, league activity).
• To keep the community safe — quips and uploaded pet photos are screened by an automated content-moderation service before they appear.
• To operate, secure, and improve the service.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, including:

• Supabase — our database, authentication, and backend hosting.
• OpenAI — automated moderation screening of quips and uploaded pet photos for harmful content.
• Google — its Gemini AI image service generates your pet's portrait from the photo you provide (Bring Your Own Pet).
• SoundCloud — powers the optional in-app radio; using it streams audio from SoundCloud under their terms.
• Apple and Google — delivery of push notifications and app distribution.
• Our email and hosting providers — for the website, newsletter, and beta sign-ups.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

How long we keep it

• Quips, brags, and reactions are automatically deleted after 14 days.
• Pet photos you upload are sent for generation but not stored; the generated pet artwork is kept while your account is active.
• Scores and league standings are kept for as long as your account is active, because they are the historical record of the competition.
• Account information is kept until you delete your account.

Your rights and choices

You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which removes your personal data from our systems. You may also request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it by emailing info@sidecar-creative-entertainment.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA/CPRA (California) — including the rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to certain processing of your data. We honor these requests; contact us to exercise them. Where we rely on the GDPR, our legal bases are performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating a safe service, and your consent (for notifications and the newsletter).

Children

SIDECAR is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security and international transfers

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data and limit access to it. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and reflected by a new effective date here.
